Have you seen this movie?

It’s on Netflix streaming right now and it’s pretty interesting.  It’s about people all over the world living in situations that we wouldn’t necessarily call happy but yet they are happy!  It also talks about the science behind being happy and the psychology of it all.

Did you know that 50% of your happiness is caused by your genetics?

40% of your happiness is because of the choices you make in your daily life.

And here’s the kicker…

only 10% of you happiness is based on the situations and circumstances you are living in!!!

Wow!  Crazy huh!  So all these people who say, I’ll be happy when… it’s not really going to help much!  I find that awesome and sad all at once!  We can strive for something for years only to realize that once we have achieved it we aren’t any happier than we were before.

But I guess we already knew that.  How many rich, famous people who seemingly ‘have it all’ are miserable?  And how many poor, struggling, sick people are overflowing with joy?

Also, kinda scary, there is a new trend in Japan where people are literally working themselves to death.  Without taking breaks and time to rest they are dying in the workplace from stress related issues.

There were some beautiful stories in the movie of incredible people – warning, if you’re a crier like me the ending will get yah!

At the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’! Of course!
